To anyone considering this exhaust (Yoshimura RS-3 oval) , I say buy it! My 06 Kawasaki ZZR600 (J model zx6r) went from angry sewing machine, to a deep even tone like a proper sport bike should sound. Not buzzy or high pitched at all. No annoying droning at freeway speeds either. There was a resonant frequency that would cause a slight vibration at certain rpms with the stock muffler. That is totally eliminated now. If anything, I will say that while the dB level is noticeably higher (which I prefer), the tone is much more pleasing. I used to feel more fatigued after a long ride with the stock can.

The polished stainless looks much much better than the factory fitted muffler as well. Really lightens up the look of the rear wheel area. There is a slight weight savings to be had as well. Probably as much as 4 or 5 lbs if I remember correctly. I didn't weigh the factory exhaust to be certain. .

Performance gains are hard to verify without some form of e mpirical data, however... the bike just FEELS faster and more responsive. There is less tendency to stall at a stop, and the clutch requires less finesse when starting from first gear. The powerband seems to have broadened a bit as well. I haven't had the bike at high speeds since changing to the RS-3, but it seems to keep pulling hard past a few of the previous flat spots in the powerband.

Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. I would recommend this exhaust to anyone wanting to improve their stock motorcycle. The price is unbeatable for the quality, and I would gladly pay double for the same product, it really is that good.

Good luck and keep the tank up riders!
