Works with some assistance. Ramp is light and stays put while moving. Dog can get front paws on the platform, but requires a little pull to get her back legs on even when set down as far as it can go. The mounting hooks to the transom are not what I expected - may need to be replaced with a heavier bolt down the road. Overall a sturdy, simple platform and cheaper than others on the market.
